The Sherman Way Station is located at the intersection of Sherman Way and Canoga Avenue, approximately a half-mile northeast of the Los Angeles River headwaters. The station is also immediately north of Warner Center, the commercial heart of the West San Fernando Valley. A commercial corridor runs east-west along Sherman Way, while an industrial and manufacturing corridor runs north-south along Canoga Avenue; however, more than half of the station area is single- or multiple-family residential. The Sherman Way transit neighborhood contains a total population of 32,951,* and 16,006 jobs or approximately 10 jobs per acre.**

The station area is located in Canoga Park-Winnetka-Woodland Hills-West Hills Community Plan area, with portions of it additionally located in special districts such as the Downtown Canoga Park Community Design Overlay and the Canoga Park Commercial Corridor Community Design Overlay. Portions of the station area are also located in a State Enterprise Zone.
